Nam PhươngSustainability

Sustainability,
honestly accounted.

No green-tinted graphics, no polar bears, no offset hand-waving. What our biology measurably does for delta soil, delta water, and delta farmers — and what it does not. Updated as the data updates.

Three things our work touches.

We do not sell sustainability. We sell biology. The sustainability is what happens when the biology is used right — measured at the soil, in the water, on the farmer's balance sheet.

This page is for investors, ESG-conscious distributors, and journalists who want the unvarnished version of our impact story. We will keep adding to it.

If you need formal disclosures aligned to GRI, SASB, or TCFD — write to us. We do not yet publish a formal annual report; we send a structured impact brief to partners on request. Honest accounting beats decorative reporting.

I.Three pillars

Soil. Water. Farmer livelihood.

01 · Soil
Restoring the underground.
Forty years of synthetic inputs have flattened delta soil biology. Our microbial inputs measurably rebuild organic matter, microbial biomass, and earthworm populations — across enrolled trial plots, over multiple seasons.
02 · Water
Less leaching, cleaner runoff.
Microbial-encapsulated nitrogen and slow-release formulations cut nitrate leaching into waterways. We measure runoff at trial sites — every season, with the same protocol. The numbers move in the right direction.
03 · Farmer
Income that compounds.
A bio-protocol cuts input cost per hectare by 25 — 35% and lifts farm-gate price for premium-grade rice by ~25%. Across three seasons at Long Phú, this is roughly a tripling of net per hectare.
II.Measured impact

What we have actually measured.

Aggregate figures from enrolled trial farms, 2022 — 2024. Not modelled, not projected. Site-level reports are available to research partners.

Soil organic matter
+ 62%
Across enrolled plots, after 3 seasons on Nam Phương biology. Baseline 2.1% → 3.4%.
Synthetic N reduction
− 34%
Average urea reduction per hectare per season on full Nap 2Rice protocol vs. local conventional baseline.
Farmer net per ha
+ 2.9×
Multiplier on net income per hectare per season at Long Phú trial. Variable across sites.
Pesticide residue
0
Detectable synthetic residue at harvest, on full bio-protocol plots. Lab-tested every season.
III.Our own footprint

The lab, honestly.

A microbiology operation has a footprint — fermentation runs on electricity, packaging uses material, agronomists drive trucks. Here is what it adds up to, ballpark, for our 2024 operations.

Footprint · 2024Figure

Indirect emissions (Scope 2)~ 195 tCO₂e

IV.Where we still have work to do

Things we are not yet good at.

An honest sustainability page lists the gaps as well as the wins. Below — what we are working on, with rough timelines.

Solar at the second site — committed for 2027. Will move us above 70% renewable on Scope 2.

Refillable packaging pilot — testing return-and-refill drums for distributor partners. Limited rollout 2026.

Formal carbon audit — figures above are internally calculated. We plan a third-party verified audit alongside our 2027 operations report.

Scope 3 — we do not yet measure transport and farmer-side use phase. On the roadmap, no firm date.
